A Notary Public is an official of integrity appointed by state government —typically by the Secretary of State — to serve the public as an impartial witness to administer oaths, witness the signing of documents, and deter fraud by verifying the identify of a person signing important documents. These official acts are called notarizations, or notarial acts.
Since 2007, Maryland Notary Services has served our community by performing notarial services for both businesses and individuals. We offer flexible hours and can meet clients at an agreed upon location within the state of Maryland.
Effective July 2019, the established fee for notarial services in Maryland is $4.00 per signature on the first copy of the document and $1.00 for each signature on each additional copy of the same document. In addition, Maryland Notary Services charges a base travel fee of $5 plus 58 cents per mile, round trip, in accordance with the IRS mileage rate for 2019.
